First time home buyer tax credit Fishers and Indianapolis 2010
Posted by Mike Taylor on Friday, February 5th, 2010 at 8:50am.I have LOTS to talk about in terms of real estate and homes for sale in the Fishers and Indianapolis area and too little time. Today, I wanted to touch base on the upcoming expiration of the first time home buyers tax credit. As you probably know, the current credit now applies to both first time home buyers and existing home owners but you must be under contract by April 30th 2010. Here are a few good resources with all the details of the program:

As we saw with the expiration of the last tax credit buyers are flooding the market and homes are selling quickly, especially the good ones. If you are a buyer you will be doing yourself a favor by not waiting until the last minute to get out there and start making offers on homes. People will procrastinate and you can stay ahead of the curve, have a better selection, and probably save money by looking now and not in 30 or 60 days. If you are a seller and your home falls into the under 250K range and you are even remotely thinking about selling, PUT YOUR HOUSE ON THE MARKET NOW!! This is the time to sell your house despite the fact we are not in summer. I am not sure what to expect, but a slight concern I have is a “hangover effect” after this newest tax credit expires.
If you have any plans to be in the real estate market in Indianapolis area as a buyer or a seller now is the time to act. Feel free to call anytime at 317-362-4064 to discuss your buying or selling needs.
